Welcome to Koom Martial Arts Retreat Center in Marrakech. For 7 days, you will inhabit a sacred space where the physical emptiness of the desert meets the spiritual fullness of the soul. Here, we honor two great traditions: the grounded, flowing wisdom of Shaolin Taoism and the heart-centered, poetic devotion of Sufi Mysticism.

The Tao: The Way of Nature
In the Shaolin tradition, we do not fight against the river; we learn to flow with it. Our daily practice is a moving meditation, designed to clear the stagnation of modern life.

Qi Flow & Martial Arts: Gentle, daily Shaolin-based movement to unlock the body’s energy channels. You will learn forms that are about combat and also about cultivating inner vitality, injury free.

Wu Wei (Effortless Action): Guided sessions on how to apply the Taoist principle of “non-force” to your life—finding the path of least resistance in your career, relationships, and inner world.

Stillness: Seated meditation in the tranquil gardens, learning to observe the mind as the Taoists do—like watching clouds pass over the Atlas Mountains.

The Sufi: The Wine of the Soul
Marrakech is a city of saints, a place where the veil between worlds is said to be thin. The Sufis call this Haal—a spiritual state of being. We will tap into the ecstatic energy of Morocco.

Sama & Sound: Experience the power of sound healing and rhythm. Like the Sufi Whirling Dervishes, we will explore how movement and music can dissolve the ego and bring you closer to the Divine.

The Heart Center: Workshops focused on the Sufi concept of Qalb (the spiritual heart)—the seat of intuition, compassion, and direct knowledge of the truth.
